Camping Le Pré du Roi in Mailly le Château - Yonne
From 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tranquility and relaxation are the key ingredients of your stay at Le Pré du Roi** campsite.
Located in a green and very shaded setting, it is a paradise for families, hikers and fishermen (white fish, fried fish, predators).
It can be the starting point for many excursions or hikes, on foot or by bike: walks along the Yonne or the Canal du Nivernais, discovery of towns and villages with medieval evocations (Auxerre, Clamecy, Avallon, Noyers sur Serein, etc.) ; prestigious excursions to Vézelay and its basilica or to Arcy and its prehistoric caves; discovery of the vineyards of Chablis, Saint-Bris, Irancy and Coulangeois, Accolay, etc…
Finally, you have to discover the two levels of the village of Mailly le Château: from the lower village , the "raidillon" leads to the upper village and its famous terrace which overlooks the valley. You can discover the oldest bridge in the Yonne there and, in the distance, you can make out the Morvan.
In a meander of the river, the Bois du Parc , a natural and geological reserve as well as a climbing site, bears witness, through its coral reef, to its prehistoric past.
The village is home to a 13th century church and its castle dominates the valley.
Several traders and craftsmen are at your disposal: bakery, bar-tobacconist-newspapers, grocery store...
